Shipment of Supplies to be Unloaded this AM in Wheeling, West Virginia.

We were trying to contact congregations as soon as we heard about flooding in West Virginia and in the San Antonio/Houston, Texas area. Dwane Casteel was reaching out to congregations in West Virginia, and Brian Spicer was calling and traveling to different areas in South Central, Texas. Many took some time to get back with us, because the waters have to recede after the rain stops before damage levels and the number of families affected can be determined. Many congregations told us they didn’t have enough damage for all of the supplies that we send in a 53’ semi trailer. After major flooding, the biggest need is help with clean-up. Not every area has church members that can help with the time consuming clean-up after a flood, so they must wait for other groups with crews of people to come in to help with clean-up. Once the clean-up is completed, we do help families through the local Church of Christ in their area, that do not have flood insurance, and are low-income, to replace some of the household items they lost due to the floods. We are expecting a number of those types of orders.

One congregation in West Virginia that we’ve worked with before after flooding, is the National Road Church of Christ in Wheeling, WV. A shipment of supplies of the pre-packed family food boxes, personal care, infant care, pallets of water, plus sheets, pillows, blankets, new clothing, and cleaning supplies will be delivered to their church building this morning.

We are standing by ready to send shipments of supplies if requested. Please be praying for all of the families whose homes have been affected by the heavy rains.
