Mid-morning, Saturday, November 7th, a 53’ semi-trailer full of supplies will be unloading in Copperhill, TN, at the Ocoee Church of Christ building to help the families in need after the heavy rains and flooding in Polk County,, Tn across the statevline into Georgia. Copperhill is located about 70 miles East of Chattanooga. The Ocoee River in Tennessee, known as the Toccoa River in Georgia, reached a record high level early November 5th in the Copperhill area, cresting at over 18 feet. 68 or more water rescues took place, which began just after 1 AM on November 5th.
We need to wait until Saturday for the water to recede, for search and rescue to be complete, and to be sure roads are open so the truck along with the church members and families in need can all get to the Ocoee church building safely.
Please keep these families, and all of those helping in your prayers. We thank the Ocoee church for wanting to help the families in Copperhill, TN and McCaysville, GA
